As German business angels, we share and support this vision. We are ready to provide an impulse to making this happen. By partnering with our Ukrainian peers, we invest in start-ups and scale-ups that build strong companies and create valuable jobs in Ukraine. 

What is the ua.ventures Batch #2025 Industrial?

At first glance, our first Ukrainian-German Angel Sprint competition is not unlike other startup investment competitions. We select participants for our first batch based on set criteria. During the multi-day camp (tbc), as finalists you receive coaching and workshops from angel investors and other experts. The winners of the camp are rewarded with angel investments.

What sets us apart: We are bridging Ukraine and Germany. That means tech and markets. Ukrainian and German business angels work together, both during the Angel Batch #2025 competition and in the ongoing support of the selected start-ups and scale-ups. This collaboration provides your start-up with direct access to broader networks and markets, significantly increasing your chances of success.

What is a business angel actually doing?

In a nutshell, a business angel is an individual who provides capital but also expertise and access to networks and markets. The typical business angel comes with a strong background in entrepreneurship and management, and is ready to share this background with promising startups. Business angels provide their support at the very early stage of a start-up’s development. 

Why should I participate?

• You will learn a lot.
• Your startups has the chance to receive angel investment.
• You will increase your network, with focus on Germany in particular.

Who can participate?

Here are the eligibility criteria:

Must Have critera:

• If you are a start-up, your enterprise is in pre-seed or seed phase.
• If you are a scale-up, your company must be able to demonstrate a strong development history, indicating substantial scale-up potentials. The German and Ukrainian market can play a role here, but does not necessarily have to.
• Your start-up or scale-up operates in the tech and industrial sphere. This might also include products, services, technologies, and business models that might have use cases in the industrial field (for example, cyber security). You do not have to have an exclusive industrial focus.
• You are a for-profit.
• More than 50 % of jobs are in Ukraine (or planned to be in Ukraine).
• You can demonstrate a scalable and innovative business model.
• You have a pitch deck available (a draft might be OK).
• You are committed to execute your next step business development in case of successful funding.
• Supported by our funding, your enterprise has the potential to reach the next funding phase (if required).
• You are ready to register your business in case of funding (if not registered already).
• At least one person in your team is fluent or almost fluent in English, in order to participate in the Batch #2025 Industrial.
• You will be able to dedicate time to participate in the Batch #2025 Tech Camp in Autumn 2025.

Good to Have (but not compulsary) criteria:

• Your start-up or scale-up is registered in Ukraine (or planned to be registered in Ukraine).
• Your start-up or scale-up can demonstrate internationalization potentials.
• Your start-up or scale-up is supporting resilience and/or recovery of Ukraine.
• An MVP / prototype already exists.
• You can demonstrate initial traction or at least LoIs.
• Your company is already legally registered.
